A Multipurpose Co-educational Secondary School

At the entrance of the spacious two-storey building of the High School, stand two beautiful sculptures of the Goddess Saraswati and Pragna Paramita. The school consists of 57 rooms and accommodates the High School and Higher Secondary divisions (class VIII-XII)
A Multipurpose School:
A co-educational institution, one of the distinguishing features of the High School, is the study of a craft which forms an integral part of the curriculum up to class X. The options offered to the students include Computer studies, Tailoring, Carpentry, Music and Sketching. The school was selected as a multipurpose school for fine arts under the Government of India scheme. An additional stream of technology is also available. At class XI the students can opt for either the General stream or Science stream. Pupils are encouraged as members of an evolving society to inculcate a sense of duty to the society, which they must fulfill with joy, understanding and sincerity.
The School Assembly:
The day begins with the assembling together of the staff and students at the Prayer hall, followed by community prayer, songs and a cultural presentation. The hall has a capacity of about 1800 persons.
Cultural & Social activities:
The School's activities are directed towards developing a sense of citizenship and social responsibilities in the pupils. To that end, projects are organized through which the pupils learn teamwork.
The Pupils'Panchayat:
The Pupils Panchayat or Self-government is given through the Pupils' Representative Council. A Panchayat is entrusted with four portfolios: celebration of school festivals, organization of games and sports, cleanliness and the school magazine. Members of the Panchayat are elected annually by the pupils through the compulsory distributive voting system.
Sports:
Popular games played in the school include Volleyball, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi and Cricket. A number of our students have been selected to state level teams.
Elocution Competition:
A state level Inter-School Elocution Competition is organized and held at C.N. Vidyalaya every year in memory of Willyben Diwan, a dedicated teacher of the school.
Awards:
A special function-Manekba Paritoshik(Awards) distribution is held annually to honor the promising students of all the institutions of Vidyavihar. The students who stand first and second at the State Board Examinations are awarded prizes. Prizes amounting to about Rs 40,000 are distributed annually.
A Special Trust-The Vidya Vinay Mangal Nidhi handles the awards distribution. There are about 57 earmarked funds worth Rs 8,00,000.
School uniform:
In keeping with the Gandhian ideology, which forms the foundation of the school, the school uniforms are made of Khadi. An increasing number of children understand and appreciate the ideology behind the use of Khadi.
The Students of C N Vidyalaya have brought laurels to their alma mater over the past decade.A large number of students have secured 1st to 10th positions in the State Board Examinations (Class X and XII) conducted by the Gujarat State Education Board.
