PREPRIMARY-PRIMARY

The Shishuvihar (Pre-primary Section) :

In the pre-primary classes, emphasis is placed on the all-round development of the child, formation of healthy habits, inculcation of fine civic sense and aesthetic sensibility. Music, rhythm, exercises and art occupy a place of importance in the day's program. A light refreshment is given to pupils in the afternoon hours when serving and all other allied activities are done by the pupils who sweep the room, clean their own dishes, and arrange them in their proper place after meals. Teaching of reading, writing and arithmetic is most incidental and commences only in the second year. Admission to Shishuvihar can be obtained in April each year. Recently its building facilities were expanded at the cost of about Rs18 lac.

The BalVidyalaya (Primary Section) :

The Bal Vidyalaya is organized on the same lines as the Vidyalaya and great emphasis is laid on social and cultural activities. The Bal Vidyalaya is also a practising school for the C.N. Primary Teachers' Training College conducted by the same Trust at the Vidyavihar campus. No uniform is prescribed for the Bal Vidyalaya pupils. Yet as the pupils grow and their reasoning and idealism develop, they are encouraged to use khadi uniform which their brothers and sisters in the High School have adopted. Since the pupils from Shishuvihar enter the Bal Vidyalaya, admission to the Bal Vidyalaya is restricted to the vacancies, which might occur.

The Kishor Vidyalaya (The Middle School) :

Consists of class V,VI and VII with five divisions in each. It is organized on the same lines as the High School and great emphasis is laid on social and cultural activities. It is also a practicing school for the Graduate Basic Training College and Primary Teachers' Training College. As in the Vidyalaya, great emphasis is laid on the School Assembly, Crafts and Handwork, Drawing and Painting, Music, Dancing, Dramatics, Excursions etc. Often the children are taken for outdoor sketching, individually as well as in groups and self-expression becomes a part of their creative activities in a healthy and natural way.
